Hi there! Today it’s been one year since I started publishing this newsletter. I’m excited and proud to be here saying that! I’m grateful, too, that you’re reading this. Thank you, even if this is the first post you’re reading. It means so much to me!
Here’s a link for a discounted paid subscription if you would like to support the time and work that I put into this newsletter. Tysm! You can subscribe for free at this link too. I’m thankful either way.
One year! I’m sober so I’m a girl who likes counting time. I’ve sent out thirty-five posts this past year — not bad considering I’ve been out here juggling several jobs on top of everything else. And not bad considering I didn’t write for years until I unexpectedly started up again last July. I’ve gotten myself into trouble a couple of times with this newsletter since then, both more and less than I anticipated. You live and you learn!
Why the name pink heart emoji? There’s not much to it tbh — in a dream I had, someone suggested it as a newsletter name and I liked the idea when I woke up. It’s the emoji I use the most though so it didn’t exactly come out of nowhere. The name is fun and femme, and it keeps things pretty ~anonymous~ which is what I was going for. Plus the branding is nice and easy! I think all of the various pink heart emojis are queer-coded (except the one with the arrow through it), so it has that going for it too.
If you’re queer and you’re looking for a sign to start a newsletter, a blog, a zine, or some other form of writing project on here or elsewhere, here you go: do it! Mercury is back in Leo now, after all. If I’m doing this then you should totally go for it. It’s fun, and people will want to read your writing. I want to read it! Send it to me, especially if you’re a friend of mine. Ignore the discourse about who should be sharing their writing, what’s good enough to put out there, who can monetize it, etc — gay people don’t really need to worry about all that. Lucky us ;)
I took a look at post analytics and here are the three newsletters with the most views:

Here’s another piece I’m proud of that I’d love for more folks to read:

In my last astrology season post, I reflected a little on having completed a year’s worth of those newsletters. Here’s the link to that post:

I have several pieces I’m working on that I’m excited to share over the next few months. Again, thanks so much for reading, and I hope you’ll stick around!
Congrats!! 💓
happy one year to one of my fave writers !! reading your pieces this last year has been an absolute joy🥰 and perhaps your encouragement for more queers to write will work on me … 🤨
